Base 2011

LGA 2011

The base 2011 or LGA 2011 is normally only used in high-end PCs or servers . The socket has 2011 contact pins for the appropriate processors . It replaces the LGA 1366 socket (Socket B) and the LGA 1567. LGA 2011 is used with the Sandy Bridge -E / EP and the associated Ivy Bridge -E / EP processors of the X79 and C600 series ( Xeon processors).

The 2011 socket was released on November 14, 2011, and supports four DDR3 SDRAM memory channels and 40 PCIe 2.0 or 3.0 lanes.

On August 29, 2014, the 2011 base was replaced by the introduction of the 2011-3 base.
