The 2000/01 season was the fifth regular season of the Ligue de hockey semi-professionnelle du Québec (LHSPQ). The 14 teams completed 44 games each in the regular season . The team with the highest points in the regular season were the Garaga de Saint-Georges , while the Mission de Joliette won the Coupe Futura for the second time in the play-offs .
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Caron & Guay de Beaupré changed their name to As de Beaupré.
- The Nova d'Acton Vale changed their name to Beaulieu d'Acton Vale.
- The Aztèques d'Asbestos changed their name to Dubé d'Asbestos.
- The Blizzard de Joliette changed their name to Mission de Joliette.
- The Coyotes de Thetford Mines changed their name to Prolab de Thetford Mines.

Coupe Futura playoffs
First, the six best teams in each division met in the pre-playoffs against the other teams in their division, with each team playing six games. In the Est division, Jonquière, St. Georges, Asbestos and Thetford could finally qualify; in the Ouest Acton Vale, Joliette, Laval and St. Laurent division.
