Labastide-Murat , until 1852 Labastide-Fortunière , is a former French commune with 648 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Lot department in the Occitanie region . It belonged to the canton of Causse et Vallées in the Arrondissement of Gourdon .

Labastide-Murat merged with the municipalities of Beaumat , Fontanes-du-Causse , Saint-Sauveur-la-Vallée and Vaillac to form the Commune nouvelle Cœur de Causse with effect from January 1, 2016 , and has been a commune déléguée there ever since .

geography

The area was part of the Causses du Quercy Regional Nature Park . The park administration is also located here. The Vers river has its source in the municipality . The A20 ( L'Occitane ) car route runs west of the town, junction 56 connects the town with the French motorway network.
