Lamp straightening (2016)
Lamp straightening (1959)

Lampericht is located in the Oberpfalz-Nord region in the northeastern part of the Schwandorf district on the B 22 , which runs from Cham in the direction of Weiden . The district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab borders the municipality there . Lampenricht is located on the Mühlbach , which flows into the Gleiritsch brook southwest of Lampenricht .

history

In the former districts of Nabburg and Oberviechtach , there are three large groups of place names that provide information about settlement activity in the area. These are the -dorf places as the oldest form of settlement in the area, then the richt or -ried places and later the -hof places ( Bernhof ). The -dorf locations were basic settlements, which were followed by the -richt and -ried locations in the 11th and 12th centuries. These were clearing settlements (Grafenricht, Hartenricht, Dürnsricht, Frotzersricht, Traunricht, Zilchenricht, Trichenricht and Lampenricht). Documented sources are not yet available, based solely on the place name, it can be assumed that it was founded after the turn of the millennium.

Village chapel

The chapel was built in 1894. Before this time, prayers took place in the room of the old Schwandner estate in Lampenricht.

In the neighboring town of Gleiritsch there was no independent pastoral care center at that time. The care took place from Weidenthal . Again and again there were times when the cooperator position in Weidenthal was not occupied due to the shortage of priests , so that during this time "in Gleiritsch except once a year" there was no Sunday service for a long time. Since Lampenricht is over an hour's walk from Weidenthal, it was difficult to get to in winter. The construction of the chapel should provide some relief. The plain interior of the chapel is adorned with a small altar of Mary and a Stations of the Cross .

In a letter dated April 24, 1895, the then pastor Wieshuber from Weidenthal asked the bishop for permission "that in the local chapel in Lampenricht the way of the cross newly acquired by the local residents will be consecrated and built by a religious priest from the Franciscan monastery in Pfreimd ". The Stations of the Cross were consecrated on May 5, 1895 by Father Johannes Fuchslochner from Pfreimd.

During the Second World War , the bell had to be delivered, as elsewhere. It should be melted down for weapons production. It remained undamaged and is still doing its job today. In 1984 the building was completely renovated.
