The Landtag elected its board of directors under the senior president Anton Garthoff. Eduard Knoch became Landtag Director ( President of Parliament ). Albert Wiemann was elected as deputy.

The state parliament met between February 21 and November 12, 1870 for 19 public plenary sessions in one ordinary and one extraordinary session. The state parliament was dissolved by a princely decree of December 1, 1870.
