The Langbruch nature reserve is located in the Birkenfeld district in Rhineland-Palatinate and is part of the Hunsrück-Nahe National Park .

The approximately 49  hectare area south of the Erbeskopf , which was placed under nature protection in 1985 , extends northwest of the hamlet of Thranenweier in the local community of Börfink . The district road  49 runs east and flows the Thranenbach.

The protection purpose is the preservation of the wetland with its water and moor areas as the location of numerous endangered plants and plant communities.
