The Spring nature reserve is located in the Hunsrück ( Rhineland-Palatinate ) on the southeast flank of the Idarwald in the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park, a few kilometers east of Morbach and Baldenau Castle .

History and nature

The NSG with an area of ​​approx. 74 hectares was designated by statutory order of the Birkenfeld district of January 12, 1988. In particular, the source area of the Springbach with quarry forest as well as moor and peat areas as a habitat for rare plant species are protected .
