The Riedbruch nature reserve is located in the Birkenfeld district in Rhineland-Palatinate and is part of the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park .

The approximately 93  hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1987 , extends north of the hamlet of Thranenweier in the local community of Börfink .  District road 49 runs not far to the east and the Thranenbach flows. State road  164 runs north and B 269 to the east .

The protection purpose is the preservation of the wetland with its water and moor areas and as a habitat for endangered plant species and plant communities.
