The Laramarca district is located in the Huaytará Province in the Huancavelica region in south- central Peru . The district was established on January 22, 1942. It has an area of 193 km². The 2017 census counted 883 residents. In 1993 the population was 1357, in 2007 it was 1040. The seat of the district administration is the 3325 m high village Laramarca with 683 inhabitants (as of 2017). Laramarca is located 51 km southeast of the provincial capital Huaytará .
Geographical location
The Laramarca district is located in the Peruvian Western Cordillera in the central south of the Huaytará province. The Río Grande flows along the southeastern district boundary to the southwest and drains the area.
The Laramarca district borders on the Ocoyo and Córdova districts in the south, the San Isidro district in the southwest, the Santiago de Chocorvos district in the northwest and the Querco district in the east .
