Latavius Murray (born on 18th January 1990 in Orlando , Florida is) a US American football poker players in the position of running backs and Kickoff Returners . He played college football for the University of Central Florida before being selected by the Oakland Raiders in the sixth round of the 2013 NFL Draft . He is currently active in the National Football League (NFL) for the New Orleans Saints .
Early years
Murray attended Onondaga Central High School in New York , where he also played basketball and athletics in addition to football . As a junior, he scored 1,609 yards and 14 touchdowns in the running game and was named all-state. A year later, he got 2,030 yards and 30 touchdowns, after which he was named "Gatorade Football Player of the Year" for New York State. He was also used on the defensive, where he posted 78 tackles , three forced fumbles and two interceptions . Rivals.com rated him as a three-star talent and the fifth best young player in New York.
college
From 2008 to 2012 he was a student at the University of Central Florida , where he played football for the UFC Knights. In his first year he was rarely used and a year later he had to miss the entire season due to an injury. In 2010 he played in all 14 games of his team and scored 637 yards and eleven touchdowns in 111 attempts. As a junior, he was named his team's Most Valuable Player after running and passing to a total of 791 yards of space and nine touchdowns. As a senior he was elected to the first team All- C-USA and received numerous other awards. He finished his college career with a total of 2,424 run yards, 37 run touchdowns and 50 passes for 524 yards and six touchdowns.
NFL
Oakland Raiders
Murray hadn't been invited to the NFL Combine but performed well on Central Florida's Pro Day . The Oakland Raiders finally selected him in the 2013 NFL Draft in the sixth round as the 181st player. He missed his rookie season completely due to injury.
In 2014 he was hardly used behind the experienced Darren McFadden and Maurice Jones-Drew . It wasn't until the second half of the season that he got his chance when he was supposed to revive the ailing running game of the Raiders. He scored his first two NFL touchdowns against the Kansas City Chiefs on Matchday 12 after an eleven and a 90-yard run. By this point in the season, the Chiefs' defense had not allowed a single run touchdown. He finished the season with 424 yards and two touchdowns in the running game on 82 attempts.
Minnesota Vikings
After his contract with the Raiders expired, Murray signed with the Minnesota Vikings on March 16, 2017 .
New Orleans Saints
After his contract with the Vikings expired, Murray signed a four-year deal for $ 14.4 million with the New Orleans Saints.
