Lerbeck is a district of the town of Porta Westfalica in the Minden-Lübbecke district in East Westphalia .

geography

Lerbeck is north of the Weser Mountains with the Jakobsberg and Königsberg and east of the Weser breakthrough Porta Westfalica (Westphalian Gate) on the Weser . In the east, Lerbeck borders on the Nammen district , in the north on the Meißen district of the city of Minden , in the west on the Neesen district and in the south on the Hausberge district . Geographically, the landscape can be assigned to the Westphalian lowlands as part of the Low German moraine and shrubland.

history

Lerbeck was mentioned for the first time on July 2, 1033 in a document under Emperor Konrad II as "Lierbeke" / Lerbike. In it he confirmed that the monastery of St. Martini in Minden, founded by Bishop Siegbert von Minden, with its possessions, including a hoof in "Lierbeke".

Until the municipal reorganization on January 1, 1973 (from 14 of a total of 16 villages on the Weserbogen, south and north of the Weser Mountains and around the "Westphalian Gate", the town of Porta Westfalica became) Lerbeck was an independent municipality with a total area of ​​around 4 , 29 km² and 2713 inhabitants.
