Wülpke is a district of the town of Porta Westfalica in the Minden-Lübbecke district in East Westphalia .

geography

Wülpke is north of the Weser Mountains . The district borders the Kleinenbremen district in the east , the town of Bückeburg in the Schaumburg district ( Lower Saxony ) in the north, Nammen in the west and Lohfeld and Eisbergs in the south .

history

Wülpke was first mentioned in a document in 1242, so that the district could celebrate its 750th anniversary in 1992. Wülpke never had its own school, the Wülpk children have always attended lessons in Kleinenbremen.

Until the municipal reorganization on January 1, 1973, Wülpke was an independent municipality with a total area of ​​around 2.75 km² and 583 inhabitants. She belonged to the office of Hausberge in the Minden district . On December 31, 2017, Wülpke had 621 inhabitants.
