Levente Zsók (born October 21, 1983 in Miercurea Ciuc ) is a Romanian ice hockey player who has been playing at ASC Corona 2010 Brașov in the Romanian Ice Hockey League and the MOL League since 2010 .

Career

Club

Levente Zsók, who belongs to the Hungarian-speaking Szekler minority in Romania , started his career in the ice hockey department of the capital city club Dinamo Bucharest . In 2002 he returned to his hometown and joined SC Miercurea Ciuc . With the traditional club of the Szekler he won the Romanian championship title in 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2010 and in 2004 also the Pannonian league . In 2003 , 2007 , 2008 and 2010 he also won the Romanian cup competition with his club. After these successes, he left Miercurea Ciuc in 2010 and switched to ASC Corona 2010 Brașov , with which he won the national cup in 2013 and the championship title a year later. In the 2013/14 season he also reached the playoff final with Brașov, which was lost with 2: 4 wins against HK Nové Zámky from Slovakia. Zsók was the best scorer in the playoffs with six goals and five assists. In 2015 he and his team were able to win the cup competition again and in 2017 the championship title again.

International

In contrast to other Szeklers who compete for Hungary , Zsók plays internationally for his native Romania . He was already active in the junior division at world championships: He played in Division III of the U-18 World Championship in 2001 , as well as in the U-20 World Championships in 2001 , 2002 (each in Division III) and 2003 in Division II.

Zsók made his debut in the men's national team at the 2007 World Cup when the Romanians had to accept relegation to Division II. He then played in Division II in 2008 , 2010 and 2015 and in Division I in 2009 , 2012 , 2014 and 2016. In addition, he represented his colors at the Olympic qualifying tournaments for the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi and Pyeongchang in 2018 , in which the Romanians each after three defeats eliminated goalless and pointless.
