Liebsdorf is a district of the city of Weida in the Greiz district in Thuringia . The iron hammer Weida in Liebsdorf near the dam of the Aumatalsperre is the oldest still preserved in Thuringia.

geography

Liebsdorf is located on the western edge of the city of Weida and about 800 m north of the Liebsburg castle , which is protected by a loop of the Auma river .

history

The first documentary mention of the village at that time took place on October 4, 1209. The former farming village had two mills on the Auma River. In the iron hammer from 1770 near Weida, work was stopped as early as 1921 after the hammer mill's death. The son maintained this technical monument until 1976 and showed it to visitors. He died in 1976 and the LPG used the building until 1990. The Horst Teuchert family began a new beginning in 1990 to preserve mill knowledge and use the monument protection for this task step by step.

The Aumühle was first mentioned in a document in 1554. The history of commercial milling in the Aumühle ended around 1895 . The building then became an inn. With a modernized guest service in compliance with the tradition of the house, the mill is still in demand.
