location

history

Lipp is probably of Celtic origin. This is indicated by the place name derived from the brook name Luppa . The village was first mentioned in 1131 when the canon Werinbold gave his monastery St. Gereon in Cologne "molendinum unum in Gilgove inter Trosthorp et Luppe".

Until the Second World War , Etgendorf, Millendorf and Oppendorf with the Schunkenhof and the Gaulshütte belonged to the then still independent municipality of Lipp.

On January 1, 1975, the place was incorporated into the city of Bedburg.
