This is a list of the rivers in Senegal . Are listed rivers , in the West African country of Senegal originate, terminate or this flow through.

All river basins drain into the Atlantic Ocean , mostly under the influence of the tidal currents in the coastal lowlands with the formation of meandering estuaries and extensive amphibious bank zones that extend far inland. All year-round water-bearing rivers have their source outside the country's borders in the rainy mountainous region of Fouta Djallon to the southeast .

The rivers that arise in the country itself carry water only in the rainy season , since the low elevation profile of Senegal, which can be referred to as lowland or hill country, in the transition from the savannah to the Sahel zone, is not suitable for building the necessary groundwater reserves all year round from the rainfall of the rainy season.

There are four major rivers in Senegal that flow into the Atlantic. Seen from north to south, they are Senegal , Saloum , Gambia and Casamance .
