The list of cultural monuments in Schmölln includes cultural monuments of the East Thuringian town of Schmölln in the Altenburger Land district and its districts. This list is based on the list of monuments of the lower monument protection authority of the district as of August 10, 2015. The list published here is informative in nature and is not legally binding. In particular, objects that are not (yet) included in the list can also be cultural monuments in individual cases. This presentation is supplemented in a separate section by further objects for which literature may be available (primarily list of monuments from GDR times), or existing memorial plaques on the individual objects.

Coßwitzanger
Ernst Thälmann monument with park
In GDR times, the park below the Catholic Church on Coßwitzang was called Ernst-Thälmann-Platz . There was a larger than life statue of Ernst Thälmann. Appeals from schools or young pioneers as well as the FDJ were held regularly. After the fall of the Wall, the monument disappeared.
