This is a list of cities in Sudan .

By far the largest agglomeration in Sudan is the three-city Khartoum , Omdurman and al-Chartum Bahri with a population of 8,363,915 (2007 calculation). This means that around 20 percent of the country's people live in the capital region.

The following table contains the cities with more than 40,000 inhabitants, their names in German transcription and in Arabic, the results of the census of April 3, 1973, February 1, 1983 and April 15, 1993 as well as a calculation for January 1, 2007 The state to which the city belongs is also listed. The population figures refer to the actual city without the suburbs.
