Shrine Object ID: 79521 |
KG location : Grillenberg |
The approximately 3.2-meter high shrine between Grillenberg and Neusiedl is from the 16th century dated and as Pestkreuz interpreted. A simple shaft with a rectangular floor plan carries a tabernacle with a stone pyramid roof . The niche at the front of the tabernacle is protected by a glass grille. Round- arched flat niches can be seen on the left and right . In an older edition of the local history news of the Baden district administration , an inscription dated June 18, 1714 is mentioned, which was probably knocked off in the course of repair work and allows the conclusion that the Gothic wayside shrine was renovated or rebuilt at that time . |
