Logan Stanley (born May 26, 1998 in Kitchener , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player . The defender has been under contract with the Winnipeg Jets in the National Hockey League since December 2016 and has been working for their farm team , the Manitoba Moose , in the American Hockey League since October 2018 .

Career

Logan Stanley comes from Waterloo in the province of Ontario and played in his youth in the Waterloo Wolves and the Waterloo Siskins . In the OHL Priority Draft 2014 Stanley was drawn as the twelfth player by the Windsor Spitfires and came on May 9, 2014 for his first appearance in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). In 2016, Stanley was selected by the Winnipeg Jets as the 18th player in the first round of the NHL Entry Draft . On December 7, 2016, he signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Jets .

In January 2016, Stanley sustained a knee injury and was out for three months. On May 28, 2017, he won the Memorial Cup with the Windsor Spitfires by beating the Erie Otters 4-3 in the final . In addition, he received the Scott Miller Extra Mile Award from his club . In the run-up to the 2017/18 NHL season , the defender took part in a Winnipeg Jets training camp , but was initially turned back to the OHL and transferred to the Kitchener Rangers on August 8, 2017 , where he played 61 games during the 2017/18 season Scored 27 points scorer.

Since the 2018/19 season , Stanley has been working for the Manitoba Moose , the farm team of the Winnipeg Jets, in the American Hockey League (AHL).

International

On an international level, Logan Stanley took part with Team Canada Red in the World U-17 Hockey Challenge 2014 in November , where he finished sixth with the team. At the 2016 U18 World Championships , the Canadian finished fourth with the U18 national team. In 2018 he was accepted into a training camp for the U20 World Cup , but ultimately not called into the squad.
