The Slavic settlement Sietzsch was mentioned in 1284 as "Szicz". Bageritz is also of Slavic origin and was called "Bawritz" in 1346. Lohnsdorf, however, appears in the year 1349/50 as a German foundation with the name "Lodemsdorf". The village of Siedersdorf emerged between Lohnsdorf and Sietzsch, and the village of Emsdorf between Sietzsch and Bageritz.

Sietzsch, Bageritz, Lohnsdorf, Emsdorf and Siedersdorf belonged to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Delitzsch until 1815 . Through the resolutions of the Congress of Vienna they came to Prussia and in 1816 were assigned to the Delitzsch district in the Merseburg administrative district of the province of Saxony , to which they belonged until 1950.

Following a request from some communities south of Landsberg, the “ Gollma ” station was set up in 1908 on the Halle – Sorau railway line, which was opened in 1872 . The stop north of Lohnsdorf was later renamed "Landsberg (b Halle / Saale) Süd". On April 1, Emsdorf was incorporated into Sietzsch, and in the same year Siedersdorf became a district of Lohnsdorf.

In the course of the first district reform in the GDR in 1950, Sietzsch, Bageritz and Lohnsdorf, as well as the northern town of Landsberg, were assigned to the newly designed hall circle , which became the new hall circle in the Halle district in 1952 . Simultaneously with the assignment to the Saalkreis, the places Bageritz and Lohnsdorf were incorporated into Sietzsch on July 1, 1950.

The lignite stored in the area south of Landsberg at a depth of 40 meters had been earmarked for mining since the 1970s. As early as 1919, a company from Berlin acquired field properties and, following successful drilling, concluded the first coal mining contracts. The government of the GDR planned the opening of the Hatzfeld opencast mine south of Landsberg in 1990. This would have been the third of five opencast mines in the area between Delitzsch in the north and Leipzig in the south, after the Delitzsch-Südwest and Breitenfeld mines . However, the economic change accompanying the German reunification in 1989/90 led to a drastic decline in the demand for lignite, which resulted in the early closure of the already opened open-cast mines Delitzsch-Südwest and Breitenfeld by 1993. The exploration of the Hatzfeld opencast mine planned in 1990 was not carried out and the construction freeze for the site was lifted.

In 1994 the first sod was broken for a new residential and commercial area. The Sietzsch community had its own coat of arms until it was incorporated into Landsberg on January 1, 2005. The responsible local mayor is Heike Liebl.
