Louis Cottereau (born February 11, 1869 in Angers , † September 21, 1917 in Dijon ) was a French cyclist and entrepreneur.

Louis Cottereau was a professional cyclist from 1888 to 1893. Three times - in 1889, 1890 and 1891 - he won the renowned sprint race "Grand Prix Angers". In 1890 he was French champion in sprint and in three years on the tricycle . On November 13, 1892, he set a new world record over 50 kilometers behind Pacemaker on the Buffalo Velodrome near Paris (1:20:33 hours).

In 1893 Cottereau won the Bordeaux – Paris race .

After his retirement from cycling, Louis Cottereau founded the company " Etablissements Cottereau " in Dijon, which built motorcycles and automobiles until 1914. In 1894 he initiated the construction of a cycling track in Dijon.
