Yavé Cahard (born December 26, 1957 in Sainte-Adresse ) is a former French track cyclist and world champion.
1979 y ave Cahard in Amsterdam Amateur - world champion on the tandem , together with Franck Depine . The following year he started at the Olympic Games in Moscow and won the silver medal behind the German Lutz Heßlich in the sprint . In the 1000 meter time trial , he finished fifth. As an amateur, he also won eight national sprint and time trial titles. Twice, in 1980 and 1981, he won the Japan International Sprint Championship .
1982 Cahard joined the professionals . In the same year and 1985 he became French champion in the professional sprint. In 1983 he was runner-up in the sprint world championship in Zurich , and in 1982 and 1984 he was third in the World Championships. He took second place twice in the sprint classic Grand Prix de Paris , in 1980 as an amateur and in 1984 as a professional.
