Louis Schelbert
Louis Schelbert (born October 31, 1952 in Lucerne ) is a Swiss politician ( Greens ), member of the National Council from 2006 to 2018 .
Life and political career
Schelbert gained his first experience in politics as a member of the large city council of Lucerne, of which he was a member from 1979 to 1987. From 1991 to 2006 he was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Lucerne. In 2006 he replaced the resigned Cécile Bühlmann in the National Council. He was a member of the following commissions and delegations of the National Council: 2006 to 2007 State Political Commission, 2007 to 2011 Finance Commission, 2007 to 2011 Neat supervisory delegation (2011 Vice-President), 2007 to 2018 Commission for Economics and Taxes and 2015 to 2018 Business Audit Commission and Court Commission. In 2018 Louis Schelbert resigned from the National Council. Michael Töngi took over his seat .
Professionally, Schelbert was the manager of the Lucerne Trade Union Confederation (LGB). He was also active as President of the Swiss Housing Cooperative and President of the national umbrella organization for work integration Switzerland.
Private
Schelbert is married to the artist Monika Feucht and has three children (1986 (f), 1987 (m), 1990 (f)), one of whom was elected to the Lucerne City Council (municipal legislature) in 2004.
