Ludivine Sagnier (born July 3, 1979 in La Celle-Saint-Cloud in the Yvelines department ) is a French actress . She gained fame mainly through her participation in three films by François Ozon , in Drops on Hot Stones , 8 Women and Swimming Pool .

life and career

Sagnier first appeared in front of the camera at the age of nine, played in several large productions and worked as a voice actress, for example in the film Léon the Professional , in which she dubbed Natalie Portman . At 16 she graduated from high school and then studied for four years at the Conservatoire d'art dramatique in Versailles .

She became known with the films 8 Women (2002) and Swimming Pool (2003), directed by François Ozon . She was nominated for the César for both roles . For her role in 8 women she received the Romy Schneider Prize for young actresses, together with the other seven women the European Film Academy Prize for Best Actress and the Silver Bear at the Berlinale 2002.

Swimming Pool made her breakthrough in France. A year later she played the fairy Tinkerbell in Peter Pan , her first Hollywood film. She also became aware of the director Claude Chabrol through Sagnier's roles in major productions . He was able to win Sagnier for his film The Two Parted Woman (2007), in which she was seen alongside Benoît Magimel and François Berléand . In 2010 she played Diane Kruger's sister in the drama Barefoot on Nudibranchs . At the 2011 Berlinale , she and Dominic Cooper presented their joint film The Devil's Double .

Ludivine Sagnier lives in Paris . A daughter was born from a relationship with her colleague Nicolas Duvauchelle , whom she met in 2002 while filming the short film Les Frères Hélias (* 2005). Another daughter (* 2009) comes from the relationship with the film director Kim Chapiron .
