Luis Ezequiel Ibáñez (born July 15, 1988 in Moreno ) is an Argentine football player. Luis Ibáñez is an Argentinian citizen as well as a Croatian citizen and speaks both languages fluently.

Career

Ibáñez began his professional career with the Argentinian first division club Boca Juniors . He played his first professional league game at Boca on May 19, 2008.

In June 2008 he signed a five-year contract with the Croatian first division club GNK Dinamo Zagreb , which he extended in February 2013 for two years. Ibáñez was mostly seeded with the Croatian series champions and was able to gain a lot of international experience in both the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Champions League . His strong identification with the club and the environment earned him a lot of sympathy from the fans of Dinamo Zagreb .

At the end of July 2013, the Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb announced that they had agreed on a loan deal with the Argentine first division club Racing Club . With the signing of Portuguese Ruben Lima from arch-rival Hajduk Split , Dinamo wanted to part with an excess left-back. Dinamo's home-grown Josip Pivarić and Luis Ibáñez were available. The club ultimately decided on the former. Luis Ibáñez thus left the Croatian record champions after a little more than 5 years, where he regularly played in his original position and during this time contributed one or the other important goal.

In the summer of 2016, the Turkish first division club Trabzonspor signed him . For the 2017/18 season, this club loaned him to league rivals Kardemir Karabükspor .
