The Lunzberge form a rock massif in the north of Halle (Saale) .

location

The Lunzberge form the Saxony-Anhalt nature reserve Lunzberge that in the conservation area is Saale. They extend west from Lettin to almost the Brachwitz ferry and to Neuragoczy. The NSG is located in the FFH area Porphyry Hill Landscape northwest of Halle .

geology

The rock massif consists of porphyry rock , which lies in the middle of a loess - black earth area. It extends on the edge of the Saale floodplain (80-107 m above sea level).

The Lunzberge are known for their dry to semi-dry grasslands and their rock formations . In addition to the dry grass vegetation , there are also dwarf shrub heaths , the meadow oat society, feather grass steppes and feathered dwarf grass .

Conservation measures

The condition of the area is good. However, it must be guaranteed in the long term that parts of the area are regularly de-bushed or grazed. The black locust trees should be partially removed so that the dry lawn areas are preserved.
