Macenta is a prefecture in the region Nzérékoré in Guinea with about 298,000 inhabitants. Like all Guinean prefectures, it is named after its capital, Macenta .

The prefecture is located in the southeast of the country, on the border with Liberia , and covers an area of ​​8,710 km².
