Machovská Lhota , until 1950 Lhota u Police nad Metují (formerly also Lhota Náchodská ; German Lhota Möhlten , 1939–45 Lhota Mölten ) is a district of the minority Machov in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers southeast of Police nad Metují and belongs to the Okres Náchod .

geography

Machovská Lhota located in the valley of the Trnkava between the Falk mountains ( Broumovské Stěny ) and the Heuscheuergebirge . To the north rises the Signál (711 m nm), east of the Lhotecky Šefel (693 m a.s.l.), to the north the Skalniak (Czech Bor , German Spiegelberg ; 918.5 m nm) and northwest of the Machovský Šefel (590.2 m nm) . Neighboring towns are Řeřišný ( Brunnkress ) in the north, Studená Voda in the east, Pasterka ( Passendorf ) and Ostra Góra ( Nauseney ) in the southeast, Machovské Končiny and Pstrążna ( Strausseney ) in the southwest and Nízká Srbská ( Lower sickle ) in the west.

history

The settlement stretching along the Trnkava was divided into two parts. The lower part formed the village of Lhota Náchodská and belonged to the Nachod manor , where it is recorded at the end of the 15th century. The upper part, the village of Mölten , belonged to the Propstei Politz .

In 1836 the village of Lhota in the Königgrätzer Kreis behind Machau or Lhota za Machowem or Lhota Machowská consisted of 36 houses and an inn; among the then 221 residents were four Protestant and one Jewish family. The village of Malten or Lhota , located close to the Prussian border, consisted of 32 houses in which 212 people lived; There was also an inn and a mill ( Nouzín ) in the village . Machov was the parish for both villages.

After the abolition of patrimonial , both villages were united to form a municipality Lhota za Machowem / Lhota Mölten in the judicial district of Politz , which consisted of the districts České Chalupy , Náchodská Lhota and Polická Lhota . In 1868 the community was assigned to the Braunau district. Since the end of the 19th century the village was called Náchodská Lhota . By order of the linguistic commission in Prague, the Czech place name Náchodská Lhota was changed to Lhota u Police nad Metují in 1920 . Since 1921 there was no longer any distinction between Náchodská Lhota and Polická Lhota, they merged into one district of Náchodská Lhota .

After the Munich Agreement remained Lhota u Police nad Metují in the "Resttschechei" and the náchod district has been assigned. Until 1945 the village was the border point to the German Reich, the Reich border ran east. After the end of the Second World War, Lhota u Police nad Metují came back to Okres Broumov. In 1950 the municipalities of Lhota u Police nad Metují , Machov and Nízká Srbská merged to form a municipality of Machov. In this context, the renaming of Lhota u Police nad Metují in Machovská Lhota took place ; at the same time the former districts of Náchodská Lhota were renamed Machovská Lhota and České Chalupy in Pod Horou . In the course of the territorial reform of 1960 the Okres Broumov was abolished, since then the village has belonged to the Okres Náchod. In 1991 Machovská Lhota had 137 inhabitants. In 2001 the district consisted of 67 houses in which 114 people lived.

  2. This information is incomprehensible, but can also be found in other cs sources. In ancient times the Trnkava was not a border river, because the settlements to the left and right of the river belonged to the Nachod rule . This was the only reason why Passendorf with Brunnkress and Nauseney were able to come under the rule of Hummel in 1477 under Heinrich I , who then owned the Nachod rule . The historically documented border river between the Nachod rule and the Politz monastery is the Židovka , which is documented as "flumen Zürbcsca" (= Srbský potok or German Sichler Bach) in a contract between Hron von Nachod and the Břevnov abbot Martin as early as 1254 . A detailed description of the course of the river and the rule of the Politz monastery can be found in Wenzel Wladiwoj Tomek : Oldest news about the rule of Braunau and Politz . Prague 1857.
