Marcel Tschopp (born April 28, 1974 in Ruggell ) is a Liechtenstein long-distance runner and doctor.
Career
In 2002 Tschopp received his doctorate in medicine from the University of Zurich .
As a participant in the World Half Marathon Championships , he finished 75th in New Delhi in 2004 and 72nd in Edmonton in 2005 .
In 2007 he finished 22nd in the London Marathon in 2:26:56 h. He qualified for the marathon of the World Athletics Championships 2007 in Osaka. In humid heat, he finished 47th out of 57 runners who crossed the finish line in 2:33:42 h (28 runners had to give up).
At the Zurich Marathon 2008 he came in 16th place and with 2: 24: 10.5 h he undercut the national Olympic limit by half a second. He represented Liechtenstein as one of two athletes and the only track and field athlete at the Games in Beijing , where he finished 74th in 2:35:06 h.
At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London , he finished 75th with a running time of 2:28:54 h.
