Marco Sahanek (born January 27, 1990 in Vienna ) is an Austrian football player .

Career

Sahanek began his career in the youth department of FK Austria Wien , where he was active for a total of nine years. After half a year at FC Stadlau , he switched to the youth team at ASK Schwadorf , where he was brought into the first team in 2007. In his debut season in the second highest Austrian league, the midfielder made nine appearances and two goals. In the following season he was with FC Admira Wacker Mödling under contract, since the club merged with ASK Schwadorf. Here he was mainly used in the amateurs in the Regionalliga Ost, but also made some appearances in the First League.

In 2010 Sahanek's path continued to Carinthia , where he was under contract with Wolfsberger AC . There he became a regular player and was able to score three goals in 23 games. He was then committed by the Bundesliga club Kapfenberger SV . He made his debut in the top Austrian league on October 22, 2011 against SC Wiener Neustadt , when he came on for Michal Ordoš in the 60th minute . Kapfenberg, however, was relegated at the end of the season and Sahanek made eleven appearances. Then he turned his back on Upper Styria and switched to SK Austria Klagenfurt .

Sahanek has been under contract with FC Wacker Innsbruck since August 28, 2014 , but moved back to SV Horn in January 2015, where he played from January 2013 until his Innsbruck engagement. In June 2015 he was signed by SK Austria Klagenfurt , the newly promoted to the first division .

After the forced relegation of Klagenfurt, he moved to the second division Floridsdorfer AC in the summer of 2016 .

For the 2017/18 season Sahanek moved to Malta for the first division club Hibernians Football Club . In January 2018, however, he returned to the FAC, where he received a contract that ran until June 2018.

For the 2018/19 season he returned on loan to Bundesliga club FC Admira Wacker Mödling. In January 2019 he left Admira and switched back to Malta on loan to the Hibernians.

National team

He was used four times in the U-19 for the Austrian national soccer team . He made his debut on April 1, 2009 against Belgium . In the away game in Tienen , the midfielder played through and was able to prepare the 2-0 final through Robert Gucher .
