Marco Stange (born July 7, 1975 in Magdeburg ) is a former German handball player and today's coach . The 1.94 m tall goalkeeper played for SC Magdeburg , TBV Lemgo and SV Post Schwerin in the Bundesliga .

Career

Stange started playing handball at TuS Progress Magdeburg-Neustadt and moved to SC Magdeburg in 1989, for which he made his debut in the Bundesliga. This was followed by two one-year engagements with the second division club FSV 1895 Magdeburg (1998/99) and SG VfL / BHW Hameln (1999/2000), with whom he was promoted to the Bundesliga. He then joined the TBV Lemgo and became the DHB Cup winner in 2002 with the club . With the Post SV Schwerin he was promoted to the Bundesliga again in 2004. In the following season, however, the direct relegation had to be accepted. After four years, Stange moved within the 2nd Bundesliga to HC Empor Rostock and after two more years to the Regionalliga- promoted SVH Kassel , who pursued ambitious goals with his patron Mehmet Göker . The hoped-for sporting success did not materialize, however, and he joined Eintracht Hildesheim and was promoted to the Bundesliga for the third time. He then ended his active career, but was reactivated by VfL Eintracht Hagen in May 2012 for relegation relegation to the 3rd division and later also played for the second division team TV Großwallstadt , where he was employed as a goalkeeping coach.

His stations as goalkeeping coach were simultaneously the A, B and C youth of HC Empor Rostock, as well as TV Großwallstadt, Bergische HC , ART Düsseldorf , TBV Lemgo, TSG AH Bielefeld and GWD Minden , with whom he has been since summer 2018 is employed.

Stange has had the Trainer A license since 2012 and runs a handball school. He also works as a player's consultant and was a trainer at the WHV state performance base in Bünde .

Others

In 2006 he married his wife Inga, with whom he has a daughter (* 2005) and a son (* 2008). His brother Andreas was also active as a goalkeeper in the Bundesliga.
