Mareike Arndt (born January 29, 1992 in Göppingen , Baden-Württemberg ) is a German athlete who specializes in heptathlon and also competes in individual disciplines as well as in relay races.

Athletic career

2016 Arndt was in Kienbaum at the German Championships in the heptathlon win the German Championship in the absence of Olympic gymnasts with 5765 points. She also won gold in the team heptathlon with her club, TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen .

In 2017 Arndt started at the German indoor all-around championships in pentathlon and won the championship in the athletics hall in Hamburg-Winterhude with 4210 points. In Kienbaum she was able to defend her championship title at the German Championships in the heptathlon and again won gold in the heptathlon team classification with TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen. In Erfurt , Arndt was German runner-up with the 4 x 400 meter relay .

In 2018, Arndt took second place at the EAA all-around meeting in Tallinn ( Estonia ) with a personal best of 4235 points in the pentathlon . At the all- around meeting in Ratingen she came in 3rd place and improved in the heptathlon to 6169 points. In Nuremberg , Arndt was the German runner-up in the 4 x 100 meter relay . On the final day of the heptathlon at the European Championships in Berlin , she and her heptathlon colleague Louisa Grauvogel got into a traffic accident on the way to the hotel, which is why they were both unable to contest the final 800-meter run .
