Maria Fisahn

Maria Fisahn (* 1949 in Geldern ) is a German artist and performance actor .

Life

Maria Fisahn was born in Geldern. After graduating from high school, she went to Düsseldorf to study art, art history and art studies at the State Art Academy . From 1968 to 1972 she studied first with Joseph Beuys , then, from 1972 to 1974, with Gerhard Richter , whose master class she became in 1974. In 1976 she passed her first and second state exams in art and art studies. A year later she moved to Hamburg. Here she was a co-founder of the Künstlerhaus Hamburg and then also its employee.

In addition to painting, she also works with the medium of film. From 1982 to 1989 she was a member of the Hamburg Film Office.

In 1992 and 1993 she held an interim professorship for painting at the Braunschweig University of Art . This was followed by a teaching position at the University of Art and Design in Hanover and in 2001 a teaching position at the Muthesius Art University in Kiel for drawing. From 1996 to 2000 she lectured at the Federal Academy for Cultural Education in Wolfenbüttel .

In 2003 she founded a mobile artists' museum , the "Strawberry Museum ", which was presented in 2009 in the Schwerin State Museum .
