Marina Busse (born March 14, 1956 in Bremerhaven ; † January 18, 2015 ) was a German actress and university professor .

Life

Busse began her artistic career after graduating from high school in the 1975/1976 season as an assistant director at the Stadttheater Bremerhaven . She then decided to act as an actor and trained as an actor at the Gmelin Drama School in Munich from 1976 to 1979 . She completed her training in 1979 with the stage maturity test. Several additional training courses followed in the subjects of dance (with Angelika Schlund, Munich), speaking technique, musicals (with the chamber actress Susi Nicoletti in Salzburg ) and body work. In 1980 she attended Strasberg seminars in Munich and New York City .

From 1980 to 1991 Busse was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Schauspielhaus Nürnberg . Her roles there included a .: Die Junge Frau in Der Reigen (season 1982/83; premiere: October 1982), Erna in Kasimir und Karoline (season 1983/84; premiere: February 1984; director: Henning Rühle , alongside Ksch. Jochen Kuhl and Patricia Litten in the title roles), Ms. Kramer in Outside Front Door (1985/86 season, premiere: October 1985; director: Hansjörg Utzerath ), Sittah in Nathan der Weise (1987/88 season; premiere June 1988, alongside Burkhard Heyl as Saladin) and Queen Isabeau in The Maid of Orleans (1988/89 season, premiere: May 1989; director: Daniel Karasek ). Between 1991 and 2002 she had theater engagements a. a. at the Stadttheater Ingolstadt , in Munich and at the Rheinisches Landestheater Neuss . During this time she worked a. a. with the directors Rudolf Noelte , KD Schmidt and Imo Moszkowicz . She gave scenic readings a. a. in the Philharmonie Cologne and at the Schauspielhaus Berlin . In 2002 she had a guest engagement at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg; she took part in the world premiere of Ingrid Lausund's play Hysterikon . In 2006 she appeared at the Grillo-Theater in Essen in the drama production Café Europa by Nuran David Calis .

Since 1990 she has also worked as a lecturer in acting training in Munich, Salzburg and Berlin. From 1994 to 2002 she was a lecturer for basic lessons and scene studies at the “Mozarteum” University of Music and Performing Arts in Salzburg . From 1997 to 2002 she was a lecturer in acting at the Bavarian Theater Academy in Munich . Her students there included u. a the actor Tom Beck .

From April 2001 on, Busse was a lecturer in the "Performing Arts" department at the Folkwang University of the Arts , initially as a substitute for a professor. From 2003 she was a full-time professor for practical theater work, basic studies and stage studies in the drama and musical courses at the Folkwang University in Essen . From 2006 to 2011 she was also the dean of Faculty 3 “Performing Arts”.

As a professor, Busse was significantly involved in the unification and merging of the acting courses in Folkwang Essen and Folkwang Bochum. She was involved in the " Standing Conference Acting Training ", a network of all German-language acting training courses. In 2002 she succeeded in bringing the drama school meeting to the Folkwang University. Since 2009 Busse has been managing director of the "European Theater Academy Konrad Ekhof GmbH" in Hamburg .

Busse died in January 2015 at the age of 58 after a long illness. She had continued teaching until shortly before her death. Busse lived in Gmund am Tegernsee .
