Maris Kruminsch (born May 16, 1987 in Riga , Latvian SSR ) is a German - Latvian ice hockey player who has been playing for Hamburger SV from the Oberliga Nord since the 2013/14 season . His father Juris is an ice hockey coach while his brother Arturs is also an ice hockey player.

Career

Kruminsch began his career in the youth team of the Cologne EC , where he played for the first time with the junior team in the German youth league in 2002 . After he could not establish himself in his first season, he improved in the second season at the KEC and scored 23 scorer points in a total of 41 games that he played. In summer 2004 he joined the Krefelder EV , which also used him exclusively in the DNL. After only one season he left the KEV and signed a contract with Moskitos Essen, which were active in the 2nd Bundesliga at the time . In addition to 18 appearances in the Junior Bundesliga, he got the chance to prove himself in the professional squad. So he came to 22 games in the 2nd Bundesliga, in which he scored an assist .

In the period that followed, Kruminsch did not succeed in asserting himself among the mosquitoes and was given a production license during the 2007/08 season and given to the upper division Blue Lions Leipzig , for whom he was on the ice 19 times. The aim was to get more ice age and game practice. After a few differences, it was decided by mutual agreement to dissolve the contractual relationship and so he returned to Essen. There he only played nine games in the 2nd Bundesliga and was in the meantime even in the squad of the amateur team in the fifth class association league NRW.

Finally, at the beginning of January 2008, Kruminsch decided to move to EHC Dortmund , with whom he played in the Regionalliga NRW. The then 20-year-old suffered a hand injury after just a few weeks and therefore only made five missions in which he scored eight points. His contract with the EHC was not renewed, instead he received a contract offer from Moskitos Essen in the summer of 2008, who had since been relegated to the Regionalliga NRW. Kruminsch decided to get involved with the mosquitoes. With the mosquitoes he celebrated the regional league championship and promotion to the league in 2010. He began the 2010/11 season with the league club Ratinger Ice Aliens , before he decided to move to Herner EV in January 2011 .

In the summer of 2011 he returned to eating mosquitos. After only one season in Essen, he moved within the league to the Hammer Eisbären , before moving to Hamburger SV from the Oberliga Nord in 2013 . There, however, his contract was terminated in mid-December 2014; he is currently without a new contract.
