Marjo Hannele Voutilainen (born March 22, 1981 in Kuopio ) is a former Finnish ice hockey player who has been the head coach of the women's team of KalPa Kuopio from Naisten SM-sarja since 2016 . Voutilainen won two bronze medals at world championships and the bronze medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics with the Finnish women's national team .
Career
In the 2005/06 season she took part with Espoo Blues in the European Women Champions Cup , in which she finished second.
In the following season, she won the Finnish championship in women's ice hockey with Espoo and was second on the top scorer list and best assists in the women's SM-liiga. In 2008 she won her third Finnish championship with the Blues and was the third best scorer in the play-offs with 13 points. After this success, she left her home country when she was signed by the reigning Russian champions SKIF Nizhny Novgorod in the summer of 2008 . With SKIF she won the European Women Champions Cup in 2009 and reached the Russian runner-up. She then returned to Finland and the Espoo Blues.
Between 2014 and 2016 she played for JYP in the SM-sarja and won her fourth championship in 2016. She then ended her career and became head coach of the women's team at her hometown club KalPa.
International
Marjo Voutilainen was part of the extended squad of the Finnish national team between 1997 and 2014 and won the bronze medal with them at the 2008 and 2009 World Cups . By the time of the 2010 Olympic Games, she had already played 114 international games. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , she also won the bronze medal. In 2013 she completed her fifth and final world championship, where she finished fourth with the Finnish women's selection.
