Marko Prokić ( Serbian - Cyrillic Марко Прокић ; born July 8, 1984 in Belgrade , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the KHK Red Star Belgrade in the Serbian ice hockey league since 2016 .

Career

Marko Prokić began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of HK Partizan Belgrade . After spending the 2002/03 season in the United States , he played from 2003 to 2006 at the KHK Roter Stern Belgrade in the Serbian-Montenegrin ice hockey league and was national champion with the team in 2005. 2006/07 he played for local rivals HK Beostar in the Serbian league. The 2007/08 season, which he had also started with Beostar, he ended again with the Red Star. The following season he moved to his home club Partizan Belgrade and also played for the capital club in the Serbian ice hockey league, which he won in 2009. He then moved to HK Spartak Subotica . The team from the northern Batschka won the playoffs of the Serbian league, but did not take part in the final of the Serbian championship against Partizan Belgrade in protest because the opponent had only participated in the Slohokej League, which is dominated by Slovenia, and not in the Serbian ice hockey league . From 2010 to 2012 Prokić played again for Partizan, for whom he was on the ice in the Slohokej League and which he won twice with his club. Since 2012 he has played for HK Vitez Belgrade again in the Serbian ice hockey league until he returned to league competitor KHK Red Star Belgrade in 2016.

International

For Yugoslavia, Prokić took part in the Europe Division II of the U18 World Cup in 2000 and Division III of the U20 World Cup in 2001 .

In the men's area, Prokić made his debut at the 2003 World Cup in Division II for the Yugoslav selection . He then worked for the Serbian-Montenegrin team and played with them in Division II in 2004 , 2005 and 2006. He also represented his colors at the qualifying tournament for the Olympic Winter Games in Turin 2006 . After the breakaway of Montenegro, he belonged to Division II at the 2009 and 2011 World Championships . After the Serbs had been promoted for the first time at the home tournament in Novi Sad in 2009 , Milovanović played with his team in Division I in 2010 , but had to accept immediate relegation. In September 2012, he took part in the pre-qualification tournament for the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi 2014 with Serbia .
