Markus Kaatsch
Markus Kaatsch (born April 19, 1987 in East Berlin ) is a German film producer and filmmaker .
Life
After graduating from high school, Markus Kaatsch worked as an assistant to the film producer Jost Hering and as a production trainee at the international feature film production company Mr. Nobody , then as a short film producer and director, recording and film production manager . At the age of 19 he founded "aug & ohr medien" with his brother Matthias Kaatsch: a basis for short film productions and their exploitation. Markus Kaatsch has been studying film production at the dffb - German Film and Television Academy Berlin since 2010 . His application film Mein Sascha was shown at over 80 film festivals worldwide. Markus Kaatsch works closely with producer Anna de Paoli and producer Niklas Warnecke.
Activity as a film agent
In addition to his studies at the dffb, Markus Kaatsch transformed “aug & ohr medien” into a film agency whose task is to give film students and young directors a marketing platform. The supervised filmmakers include a. Dietrich Brüggemann , Robert Gwisdek , Moritz Krämer , Karoline Herfurth , Kai Stänicke, Anselm Belser, Sophie Kluge, Bryn Chainey, Dennis Stein-Schomburg and Joya Thome.
He helped the 43-second short film FELIX by Anselm Belser with over 170 festival screenings to become one of the most successful German shorts of 2012.
Acting as an actor
As a teenager, Markus Kaatsch took on episode roles in sitcoms such as Angie (TV series) or Zack! Made-to-measure comedy . He played supporting roles a. a. in television fiction films by Kai Wessel , Christoph Schrewe or Daniel Lang . McDonald’s cast him twice as a leading role in a commercial. Kaatsch financed his first short films from the fees.
Private
He lives in Berlin with his partner Kathrin du Hamél , his daughter and his son.
