Marnie Mosiman
Marnie Mosiman (born March 6, 1951 in Minneapolis , Minnesota ) is an American actress and singer .
Life
Mosiman grew up in Minneapolis. She came from a musical family, received singing lessons at an early age and attended the Children's Theater School . After graduating from high school, she attended Principia Arts College in Elsah , Illinois .
Mosiman initially appeared as a stage actress . In 1979 she played for the Seattle Repertory Company in the comedy " Heartbreak House " directed by George Bernard Shaw . In 1983 she appeared with the Los Angeles Stage Company in the play Cloud Nine by Caryl Churchill , for which she received the Los Angeles Drama Critics Award. In 1985 she was one of the finalists in the Metropolitan Opera singing competition .
Mosiman has taken on numerous leading roles in the course of her career, including in the musicals and operas Godspell , Sweeney Todd , Così fan tutte and A Little Night Music by Stephen Sondheim , with whom she also went on tour. At the Ravinia Festival she appeared as Madame Jourdain with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in a production by Le Bourgeois gentilhomme . She sang and played Olga Kromow in the operetta The Merry Widow at the Los Angeles Opera. She took on the role of Trina in the musical Falsettos by William Finn in a production of National Public Radio and Los Angeles Theater Works. At the Aspen Music Festival she played the title role of Johanna von Orléans in Arthur Honegger's dramatic oratorio Jeanne d'Arc au bûcher under the musical direction of David Zinman . With the Philadelphia Orchestra , conducted by Charles Dutoit , she sang the role of the Witch of Endor in Honegger's oratorio Le Roi David .
At the South Coast Repertory Theater she played in the productions Arcadia by Tom Stoppard and Six Degrees of Separation by John Guare .
Mosiman had guest appearances in various films and television series . Among others in Ally McBeal , Beverly Hills, 90210 and Spaceship Enterprise: The Next Century .
Mosiman is a member of the Los Angeles Master Chorale. For this choir she designed the Voices Within program . Mosiman also works as a singing teacher and voice coach, including at the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival.
Mosiman is married to John de Lancie . The two have sons Keegan and Owen de Lancie together .
