Martial Mischler

Martial Mischler (born July 6, 1964 in Strasbourg ) is a former French wrestler . He was eight times French champion in the Greco-Roman style in the world ter and middleweight division.

Career

Martial Mischler-Riemer, as he is now called, is a member of the Alsatian family Mischler / Riemer, which has produced top wrestlers for generations. Growing up in Strasbourg, he started as a teenager when Ringer Club Olympia Schiltigheim with the rings . There he developed into an excellent wrestler in the Greco-Roman style, who was the first French champion in the senior welterweight division in 1985.

Martial Mischler's international wrestling career began as early as 1983 when he participated in the Junior World Championships (Espoirs) in Kristiansund / Norway . There he took an excellent 4th place behind such experts as Mikhail Mamiaschwili from the USSR, Tibor Komáromi from Hungary and Petar Tenew from Bulgaria .

In 1984 Martial Mischler started at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles for the first time in the senior class at an international championship. He took a good 6th place in the welterweight division. He also achieved the same place at the European Championships in Athens in 1986 , with Michail Mamiaschwili, Roger Tallroth from Sweden , Jouko Salomäki from Finland , Jerzy Kopanski from Poland and Ștefan Rusu from Romania only the "creme de la creme" of the welterweight wrestlers of the 1980s Years before him.

Martial Mischler also did excellent at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul . He reached there with a victory over the Bulgarian Borislav Welitschkow the 5th place. He also achieved an excellent 5th place at the 1989 World Cup in Martigny / Switzerland .

In 1992 Martial Mischler took part in the Olympic Games in Barcelona for the third time. He came there in the middleweight division on 11th place.

Martial Mischler ended his career with a victory at the Mediterranean Games in 1993 in Languedoc - Roussillon welterweight before Yalcin Karapinar from Turkey and Petros Triantafilidis from Greece . With Yvon Riemer , another member of the Mischler / Riemer family was ready to take over from Martial Mischler-Riemer. He now works as a trainer at Olympia Schiltigheim.
