Martin Gruener
Martin Grüner (born July 19, 1929 in Stuttgart ; † February 4, 2018 in Bonn ) was a German politician ( FDP ). From 1972 to 1987 he was Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and from 1987 to 1991 at the Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety .
education and profession
After graduating from high school in Schramberg in 1949 , Grüner completed a law degree in Tübingen and Hamburg , which he completed with the first and in 1959 with the second state examination . After that he was in-house counsel and managing director in the Association of the Black Forest Clock Industry until 1968 . V. active in Schwenningen . In 1961 he was admitted to the bar. From 1968 to 1972 Grüner was managing director of the Association of the German Watch Industry .
Political party
Since 1950 Grüner was a member of the FDP; During his student days in Tübingen , he headed the Liberal University Group . From 1963 to 1967 and from 1969 to 1988 he was a member of the FDP state executive in Baden-Württemberg . He was a member of the FDP federal executive from 1976 to 1990.
MP
From 1964 to 1972 Grüner was a member of the municipal council in his home town of Schramberg.
From 1969 to 1994 he was a member of the German Bundestag and from 1969 to 1972 he was the education policy spokesman for the FDP parliamentary group . He was also a member of the social policy committee and the budget committee of the Bundestag. In the 12th German Bundestag (1990–1994), Martin Grüner was a member of the finance committee and chairman of the “Finances and Taxes” working group of the FDP parliamentary group as well as a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee. Martin Grüner saw a focus of his parliamentary work in the 12th legislative period in his work as a member of the inquiry commission “Prevention for the Protection of the Earth's Atmosphere” of the German Bundestag.
Martin Grüner has always entered the Bundestag via the Baden-Württemberg state list of the FDP .
Public offices
On December 15, 1972, Grüner was appointed Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Economics in the federal government led by Federal Chancellor Willy Brandt . In this office he also belonged to Helmut Schmidt's cabinet until he left office on September 17, 1982 after the break with the social-liberal coalition.
After Helmut Kohl was elected Federal Chancellor, Grüner was reappointed Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Economics on October 4, 1982. From 1974 to 1987 he was also the federal government's coordinator for the German aerospace industry. After the federal election in 1987 , he moved to the Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety on March 12, 1987 in the same function . After the 1990 Bundestag election , he left office on January 18, 1991, but remained a member of the German Bundestag until 1994.
