Martin Hinterstocker (* 28. July 1954 in Holzkirchen ) is a former German ice hockey player and coach, who in his active period 1972 to 1990, the SC Riessersee , Berliner Schlittschuhclub , EV Rosenheim , Düsseldorf EC , ECD Iserlohn and ESV Kaufbeuren in Ice hockey Bundesliga played.
Career
He began his senior career in 1971 at SC Riessersee. After two seasons in which he had scored over 20 goals each time, like many Bavarian players, he was drawn to one of the financially stronger clubs in the north. Even as a 20-year-old striker could with the Berliner SC in the 1973/74 season, the German Cup win. Two years later he was part of the German national team , with which he won the bronze medal at the 1976 Olympic Games . For this sporting success he and the German ice hockey Olympic team received the silver laurel leaf in 1976 .
His time in Berlin was interrupted by a brief guest appearance for the 1978/79 season at EV Rosenheim , where he played with his brother Hermann, who was two years his junior . In the 1976/77 season he was the league's top goalscorer, after which he was also elected to the All-Star team . After two World Cup ( 1978 , 1979 ) and another Olympic participation ( 1980 ) joined the Bavarian-born to the 1982/83 season for Düsseldorf EG , but after 22 games he left the North Rhine-Westphalian state capital to back the ECD Iserlohn a to find a new home. For the 1984/85 season he went back to his home country for SC Riessersee , where he stayed for four years, except for a brief interlude at Augsburg EV . In the 1988/89 season he ran for ESV Kaufbeuren , a year later he played his last season again in Iserlohn at the ECD Sauerland, in what was then the second highest division.
In 1992 he took over the coaching chair at EV Füssen in the ice hockey league . After two years he handed the team over to Rodion Pauels , today's sports coordinator of the Kölner Haie . In 1997 he took over the management of the then third division team ESC Dorfen . In the DEL he was an assistant coach with Hans Zach behind the gang in the 1999/2000 season . In the 2005/06 season he coached the regional league team at ERSC Ottobrunn .
Martin Hinterstocker, whose sons Benjamin (most recently Hamburg Freezers ) and Martin ( ERC Ingolstadt ) are also ice hockey professionals, is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame Germany .
