Martin Simon Schoultz von Ascheraden (born January 4, 1660 , † November 3, 1730 in Stralsund ) was a Swedish lieutenant general and governor of Wismar .

Life

His military career began in 1676 as a musketeer in the body regiment , where he was also appointed ensign in 1675 . He then served from 1676 as a lieutenant in the mountain regiment . In 1678 he was promoted to captain in the Skaraborgs Regiment. As a major , he served in the Stralsundska Regement in 1693, was promoted to lieutenant colonel and took over the regiment as commander with simultaneous promotion to colonel and from 1702 as city ​​commander of Stralsund. From 1710 in the rank of major general of the infantry, in 1713 he was Commander- in -Chief in Stralsund. In 1716 he was appointed lieutenant general and governor in Wismar . He was particularly known for defending the Swedish fortress of Wismar from June 1715 to April 1716 against a superior army of Saxons , Danes and Russians . He said goodbye on June 2, 1721 and settled in Stralsund, where he died on March 11, 1730 and was buried.

His father was the general and governor of Narwa Martin Schoultz von Ascheraden (1617–1682), who had been accepted into the Swedish nobility in 1675 under the name "Schoultz von Ascheraden" .
