Martina the Hertog Vogt
Martina den Hertog-Vogt (* 1961 in Nijmegen as Martina den Hertog ) is a Dutch translator .
Life
Martina den Hertog-Vogt moved with her family from the Netherlands to Bramsche in Lower Saxony in 1964 . From 1976 she attended a German grammar school , where she also passed the matriculation examination. This was followed by a degree in applied linguistics at the University of Mainz in Germersheim , which she completed in 1987 as a qualified translator. Den Hertog-Vogt then worked as a freelance technical and literary translator for the languages Dutch and German .
From 1993 she lived with her family in Leipzig , where she held a guest professorship for literary translation at the university . She has been based in Landshut , Bavaria, since 1997 , where she runs a translation agency that primarily takes on technical translations, but also translates texts for audio guides and scripts . Martina den Hertog-Vogt has also been translating literary texts and non-fiction from Dutch into German since the 1990s , including works by Harry Mulisch and Multatuli . Den Hertog-Vogt is a member of the Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators and the Fédération internationale des traducteurs .
