Mary-Edith Schreiber

Mary-Edith Schreiber (born May 31, 1921 in Hanover ; † November 15, 2014 in Chemnitz ) was a German actress and radio play speaker .

Life

After engagements in Plauen, Görlitz and Dresden, Mary-Edith Schreiber was employed at the municipal theaters in Chemnitz / Karl-Marx-Stadt for over 50 years . Until she was 81, she played the role of Mrs. Higgins in the play My Fair Lady by Frederick Loewe on stage. She spent the last years of her life in a retirement home in Chemnitz until she died in 2014 at the age of 93. In addition to her theater work, she also worked in front of the camera for film and television. She acted as a spokesperson for radio and various GDR record labels.

Mary-Edith Schreiber was married to the actor Peter Harzheim (1902–1967) and found her final resting place in the castle cemetery in Chemnitz, Salzstrasse 81.
