Matic Nemc (born August 4, 1992 in Kranj ) is a Slovenian natural toboggan runner . He drives in a single seater and has competed in the World Cup as well as World and European Championships since 2008 .
Career
Matic Nemc has been racing in the Intercontinental Cup since the 2006/2007 season and took part in a junior European championship in St. Sebastian for the first time in February 2007 , in which he took 19th place, as well as the junior world championship 2008 in Latsch and the junior European championship 2009 in Longiarü . Since the 2007/2008 season he has competed in the World Cup and takes part in World and European Championships . So far he has mostly achieved placements between 20th and 30th. In his first World Cup winter, two 24th places at the end of the season in Železniki were his best results, making him 32nd in the overall World Cup. In the next year he achieved his first top 20 result with 19th place in the penultimate race in Nowouralsk , which improved him to 23rd place in the 2008/2009 season . In the 2009/2010 season his best result was 22nd place at the World Cup finals in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , which made him 25th overall. At his first European championship in 2008 in Olang , Nemc came in 26th and a year later at the 2009 World Championships in Moos in Passeier on 27th place. He was able to improve a bit at the 2010 European championship in St. Sebastian, where he was 24th. At the Junior World Championships 2010 in Nova Ponente , he achieved 16th place.
In the second race of the 2010/2011 season , the Slovene achieved his best World Cup result to date with 14th place in Novouralsk. Another three times this winter he was among the fastest 20, with which he reached 19th place in the overall World Cup and was the best Slovenian for the first time. At the 2011 World Championships in Umhausen he achieved 25th place and at the 2011 European Junior Championships in Laas, which was held a week later, 15th. The next year he was also 15th at the 2012 Junior World Championships in Laces . At the 2012 European Championships in Novouralsk, he achieved 23rd place. In the overall World Cup, Nemc was again the best Slovene in the 2011/2012 season . He placed between 20th and 24th place in the six races and was 21st in the overall standings.
In summer Matic Nemc also takes part in roller luge competitions.
