Matryoshka is an American dramedy series by Natasha Lyonne , Amy Poehler and Leslye Headland , which premiered on the Netflix streaming service in February 2019 . The series is about a woman who experiences the night of her 36th birthday again and again as if in a time warp. Every time she dies, only to regain consciousness every time in the party's bathroom. It must first go through a change before it can break out of this cycle. In addition to Lyonne himself, you can see Greta Lee , Yul Vazquez , Charlie Barnett and Elizabeth Ashley in other roles .
