Matthias Leja

Matthias Leja (born July 7, 1962 in Lüneburg ) is a German actor .

Life

Matthias Leja studied philosophy and theater studies in Munich . In 1983 he then moved to the University of Music and Theater in Hamburg for two years , where he studied acting . Meanwhile he was engaged as a guest at the Schauspiel Frankfurt (Fortinbras in Hamlet ).

Career

In 1995 he received an engagement at the Schauspielhaus Bochum . With Dimiter Gotscheff , Amphitrion , Die Zimmererschlacht , Der Zerbrochne Krug and Six People Looking for an Author were created . At Haussmann's he played in Germania 3 , under Karin Henkel's direction in One Long Day Journey into the Night . He is also engaged at the Salzburg Festival and the Thalia Theater .

His best-known role was that of the pilot of the SAR Hamburg 71 rescue helicopter , Major Alexander "Alex" Karuhn in the ZDF series Die Rettungsflieger .

Since the 2003/2004 season Leja has been a member of the ensemble of the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus . Matthias Leja has been a member of the Thalia Theater in Hamburg since 2009 . He was also involved in numerous radio play productions. In the WDR radio play Radio Tatort he is the investigator Lenz and plays the title role in "PARKER". With the start of the 2018/2019 season, Matthias Leja is a permanent member of the ensemble at the Schauspiel Stuttgart.
