Max Lang (born December 6, 1992 in Calw ) is a German weightlifter . He won the German weightlifting championship in 2014, 2016 and 2017 in the weight class up to 77 kg and the German weightlifting championship in 2019 in the weight class up to 81 kg.

Life

Max Lang was born in Calw, Baden-Württemberg and grew up in Ostelsheim . There he began playing soccer as a teenager, because his first goal was to become a professional soccer player. In 2004 he moved with his family to Drebach in Saxony . There he continued to play football in a sports school and boarding school in Chemnitz. Until 2007 he played in the soccer club Chemnitz FC. In order to stay at the sports school, Lang had to look around for another sport and decided to do weightlifting. He has been a weightlifter since 2007 and also took part in the international German youth championship in Frankfurt on the Oder and achieved 5th place. A year later he won the German championship in Plauen in his then weight class up to 55 kg. In 2009 he graduated from secondary school and started training as an administrative clerk. After completing his training, Lang moved to Leimen and joined the Bundeswehr's sports promotion group as a sports soldier . There were several participations and victories at the national level. His first international participation was at the European Championships in Amiens for Germany. There he made it to 10th place with his overall performance. In 2012 he was able to improve by three places at the European Championships in Eilat . In 2014 he won the German championship in both snatch and push , which took place in Obrigheim . In his first participation in a World Cup in Almaty for Germany, he reached 14th place.
